Midscale Touring Participation Terms

Midscale 2026 marks the inaugural edition of a new national marketplace for midscale touring, organized by the Local Theatre Touring Alliance (LTTA). As with any pilot, we anticipate that we will discover valuable insights as we plan and execute the event. Consequently, the programme, participation opportunities, and these participation terms may adapt between the opening of applications and 21 October 2026. Should there be any significant changes, both applicants and delegates will be informed, and the most recent version will be accessible on the Midscale website.

Applications and curation

Submitting an application to the Local Theatre Touring Alliance does not guarantee a place at Midscale touring events.

Applications will be evaluated by the LTTA Board based on the published eligibility criteria and our dedication to creating a balanced, diverse, and productive event. In this process, we aim to achieve a suitable mix of venues, producers, artforms, geography, organization types, and participation terms.

The Board's decision on applications is final.

Participation

Applicants are encouraged to identify how they would like to contribute to Midscale through options such as Tour-Ready, Pipeline, Collaborate, Live Moments, or the Marketplace, in line with Local Theatre Touring Alliance's vision for midscale touring. LTTA reserves the right to discuss alternative participation terms with applicants where we believe these would create a stronger overall event.

Tickets, transfers and cancellations

Successful applicants will be invited to purchase tickets as part of the Local Theatre Touring Alliance's participation terms.

If you can no longer attend, please inform us as soon as possible. Bookings may be transferred to another representative from the same organisation, subject to LTTA's agreement.

Refund arrangements and any cancellation deadlines related to midscale touring will be published before tickets go on sale.

If LTTA is required to cancel Midscale, ticket fees will be refunded in full. LTTA cannot accept responsibility for travel, accommodation or other costs incurred.

Respecting ideas

Midscale is designed to encourage organisations within the Local Theatre Touring Alliance to share productions, projects, and ideas at every stage of midscale touring development. Presenters and contributors retain ownership of their intellectual property at all times. Delegates are expected to respect the confidential nature of discussions and should not photograph, record, or reproduce presentations, performances, or other materials without the permission of the presenter or performer, in line with our participation terms. We hope Midscale will foster a culture of openness, generosity, and trust. We ask all participants to contribute in that spirit.

Photography and filming

Photography and filming may occur during the event for future communications and promotional purposes related to the Local Theatre Touring Alliance's midscale touring initiatives. If you do not wish to be featured in photographs or recordings, please inform us about your participation terms before the event.

Accessibility

The Local Theatre Touring Alliance is dedicated to ensuring midscale touring is as accessible as reasonably practicable. During the application process, please inform us of any access or dietary requirements so we can make the appropriate arrangements to support your participation terms wherever possible.

Programme

Midscale touring is a live, curated event hosted by the Local Theatre Touring Alliance. LTTA reserves the right to make necessary changes to the programme, speakers, sessions, room allocations, and timings in accordance with the participation terms.

Delegate conduct

Midscale is designed to create a welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative environment, embodying the spirit of the Local Theatre Touring Alliance. We kindly ask all delegates to adhere to the participation terms and to treat fellow participants, venue staff, and contributors with courtesy and respect throughout the event, especially in the context of midscale touring.

Privacy

Personal information will be processed in accordance with the Local Theatre Touring Alliance Privacy Policy and used for the administration of midscale touring events. Where delegates have given permission, their contact details may also be included in the event delegate directory, in line with the participation terms.
